Psalms 84:1-4
The LORD's dwelling places are lovely because they bring worshipers near the living God, whose house becomes the place of longing, refuge, and continual praise.

1How lovely is Your dwelling place, O LORD of Hosts!

Psalms 84:5-8
Those whose strength and pilgrimage are rooted in God pass through the Valley of Baka with renewed provision and appear before Him in Zion.

Psalms 84:9-12
One day near the LORD is better than a thousand elsewhere because He is sun and shield, gives grace and glory, and blesses those who trust Him.

Israel, Aaron's house, and those who fear the LORD are summoned to trust Him as their help and shield.
9Take notice of our shield, O God, and look with favor on the face of Your anointed.
10For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.
12O LORD of Hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!
