Matthew 10:18 On My account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.
Matthew 10:19 But when they hand you over, do not worry about how to respond or what to say. In that hour you will be given what to say.

Jesus sends vulnerable witnesses with wise innocence, promises the Father's Spirit under hostile pressure, and calls His servants to endure along their rejected Master.
Jesus does not hide the cost of His mission. He sends the Twelve as sheep among wolves, not as aggressors, and joins shrewd discernment to dove-like innocence. Courts, rulers, family betrayal, hatred, and slander may become the setting for witness, yet the disciples are not abandoned. In the hour of hostile handing over, the Father's Spirit will give them words. This promise addresses pressured testimony; it is not contempt for ordinary study and preparation. Endurance is not a way to purchase salvation but persevering allegiance to the Lord who saves. Neither does faithfulness require reckless exposure. Jesus permits flight so the mission can continue. Not every criticism is persecution for Christ's name, and this passage must not train suspicion or a desire to be opposed. If obedience places you under real pressure, ask Christ for wisdom without deceit, innocence without naivety, and courage without retaliation. Bring the situation to a trustworthy pastor or mature believer, and seek appropriate help if safety is at risk. The rejected yet victorious Master walks this road before His servants and will not forsake them.
Lord Jesus, give me wise innocence, Spirit-sustained words, and enduring allegiance without fear, retaliation, or reckless exposure.
