Sermon Sequence

  1. 1
    Sermon 1 Exodus 1:1-2:25

Bondage and the Birth of the Deliverer

Israel's oppression, Moses' preservation, and the Lord's hidden preparation establish the need for redemption.

    Prayer for this passage

Father, you kept your promise to Israel when Joseph and his generation had passed away, and you caused your people to be fruitful in the very land where trouble would soon rise. Teach us to trust your covenant faithfulness when your work is quiet, when generations change, and when the next chapter looks uncertain. Help us remember that your purposes do not die with your servants, and make us faithful in our own generation as we wait for the fullness of your redeeming work.

  2. 2
    Sermon 2 Exodus 3:1-6:30

    Call and Commission

The burning bush, the divine name, and Moses' commission reveal God's sovereign initiative in deliverance.

    Prayer for this passage

Father, you are the holy God who comes near without becoming common, the covenant Lord who calls by name and remembers what you have promised. Teach us to remove our sandals in spirit before you, to receive your Word with reverence, and to trust that your mission rests on your faithfulness rather than our strength. Keep us from casual worship and self-made calling, and form us as servants who move only because you have spoken.

  3. 3
    Sermon 3 Exodus 7:1-12:42

    Plagues and Passover

Judgment on Egypt and the blood-marked Passover show the Lord's power to redeem His people.

    Prayer for this passage

Lord, you are not limited by weak servants, hardened rulers, or delayed deliverance. Teach us to speak what you command, to trust your appointed ways, and to believe that your mighty hand is not shortened when opposition grows severe. Keep us from measuring your faithfulness by immediate relief, and steady us in the confidence that you make your name known through judgment, mercy, and redemption.

  4. 4
    Sermon 4 Exodus 13:1-18:27

    Redemption and Journey

The sea crossing, wilderness testing, and provision train the redeemed people to trust the Lord.

    Prayer for this passage

Father, you brought your people out of the house of slavery by your mighty hand and taught them to remember that deliverance through consecrated life and household instruction. Keep us from forgetting your redemption or treating our lives as our own. Teach us to speak your saving works to the next generation, to live as those redeemed by blood, and to surrender gladly to your claim over all that we are.

  5. 5
    Sermon 5 Exodus 19:1-24:18

    Covenant at Sinai

The redeemed nation receives covenant words, worship order, and mediated holiness before God.

    Prayer for this passage

Father, you have not merely brought your people out of bondage; you have brought us to yourself. Teach us to remember your saving grace before we speak of obedience, and make us a people who hear your voice, keep your word, and live as those who belong to you. Guard us from pride in our calling and from carelessness with your holiness, and form us as a priestly people who bear witness to your redeeming power.

  6. 6
    Sermon 6 Exodus 25:1-31:18

    Tabernacle Instructions

God teaches His people how He will dwell among them and how holy worship is ordered.

    Prayer for this passage

Father, you are the holy God who graciously chooses to dwell among your redeemed people. Teach us to offer what you have first given us with willing hearts, and keep our worship governed by your Word rather than our preferences. Fix our hope on Christ, the true dwelling place of your presence, and make us a people who treasure your nearness above every visible gift.

  7. 7
    Sermon 7 Exodus 32:1-34:35

    Covenant Breach and Renewal

The golden calf, intercession, and renewal reveal both the people's need and God's mercy.

    Prayer for this passage

Father, keep us from idols of our own making. Forgive us for the times we grow impatient, demand control, and reshape worship around our fears and desires. Fix our eyes on Christ, the true image of the invisible God, and teach us to worship you according to your Word with patient trust and holy reverence.

  8. 8
    Sermon 8 Exodus 35:1-40:38

The Tabernacle Built and Glory Dwells

The completed sanctuary shows that the Lord keeps His promise to dwell among the redeemed.
