Meonothai מְעוֹנֹתַי
Son of Othniel and father of Ophrah.

Meonothai is mentioned in the genealogy of the tribe of Judah (1Ch.4.14). He was the son of Othniel, who was the younger brother of Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. Meonothai was the father of Ophrah, but no further information about his life or role is provided in the biblical text.

Meonothai
Vulgate (Jerome's Latin Bible, 390-405 A.D.) and Complutensian Septuagint say, 1Ch 4:13,14 should read "the sons of Othniel, Hathath and Meonothai; and Meonothai begat Ophrah," etc. The latter may be founder of the town of that name.
