Josiphiah יוֹסִפְיָה
Father of Shelomith, a returning exile
Biography
Josiphiah is mentioned only in Ezr.8.10. He is the father of a man whose descendants returned from the Babylonian exile. His son (referred to as Ben-Josiphiah, meaning "son of Josiphiah") led 160 males who accompanied Ezra on the return journey to Jerusalem. This return occurred during the reign of Artaxerxes, king of Persia. The name appears in a list of family heads who participated in this important return to Jerusalem.
