Prayer for this passage
Father, I thank you that through the knowledge of Jesus and the precious promises contained in his gospel, you have given me everything I need for life and godliness, freeing me from the corruption of worldly desire. As I meditate on these divine promises, work in me a genuine faith that produces virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, and love for others. Transform me by your grace from the inside out, making me a partaker of your divine nature, so that I might live in a way that honors the One who called me and gave himself for me.

FormationTeach believers to ground faith in apostolic revelation rather than in private speculation or shifting trends.
Prayer for this passage
Father, we thank you that Peter's eyewitness testimony to Jesus's majesty and power on the mountain stands as sure confirmation of your Word, not as cleverly devised myths but as truth spoken by those who saw your glory with their own eyes. Grant us faith to trust in the prophetic word made more sure through Scripture, even when we have not seen as the apostles saw, knowing that your voice from heaven declared Jesus as your beloved Son in whom you are well pleased. We surrender our doubts to the authority of your Word and commit ourselves to build our lives upon this certain foundation of Christ's power and majesty.
- 3Sermon 3 2 Peter 2:1-22
False Teachers, Judgment, and Rescue
Peter exposes destructive teachers, warns of judgment, and remembers God's power to rescue the godly.
FormationTrain believers to test teachers by doctrine, character, and fruit rather than by charisma or popularity.
Prayer for this passage
Lord, guard my heart against the destructive heresies that creep in unnoticed, and give me discernment to recognize false teachers who exploit your people for their own gain. Help me cling to the truth of your Word and reject the lies that deny you as Master, trusting not in my own judgment but in your Spirit to keep me steadfast in what is true and good.
- 4Sermon 4 2 Peter 3:1-18
The Day of the Lord, Steadfastness, and Doxology
The church is called to remember the Lord's coming, live in holiness, and grow in grace and knowledge.
FormationTeach believers to rehearse prophetic and apostolic truth regularly so their minds are shaped by Scripture rather than by cultural mockery.
Prayer for this passage
Father, awaken my mind to remember the words spoken by Your holy prophets and the command of the Lord Jesus Christ, that I might not be swayed by scoffers who deliberately forget that You spoke the heavens and earth into being and sustain all things by Your word. Guard my heart from the mockery of those who deny Your judgment, and strengthen my faith to trust that just as You destroyed the world once by water, You will certainly fulfill all that You have promised. I surrender my doubts and anxieties about Your return to Your perfect knowledge and sovereign timing, resting in the certainty that Your word will accomplish all things.
