Dan's seventh lot includes named towns, but its people later take Leshem and rename it Dan. The added notice makes this inheritance account more than a static list.

Neither a tribal lot nor a military capture is the means by which sins are forgiven. The apostolic gospel proclaims Christ's death for sins and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3-4); grace through faith, not possession of Leshem or Danite ancestry, grounds salvation (Ephesians 2:8-10).
